Remember: "Eat the right food and eat the right amount" 

Read:

Grains 
It includes bread, rice, pasta, cereal.Recommended amount: 6-11 servings daily.Why? Grains give us energy because they contain carbohydrates.

Vegetables and Fruits

Examples: spinach, carrots, broccoli.Recommended amount: 3-5 servings.Rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Examples: apples, bananas, oranges.Recommended amount: 2-4 servings.Provides vitamins, especially Vitamin C, and natural sugars.

Protein and Dairy Products

Meat, Poultry, Fish, Beans, Nuts - 2-3 servingsProvides protein to build muscles and maintain body tissues.
Milk, Yogurt, Cheese - 2-3 servingsImportant for calcium and vitamin D, which are essential for bone health.Slide 5: Fats, Oils, and Sweets

Top of the Pyramid – Includes butter, oils, sweets, and processed foods.
Why do we have to limit these? These are high in calories but low in essential nutrients.
